Leder Haus x Balagi International at JIA CURATED 2026
We were proud to join Balagi International at Jia CURATED 2026, held at Pengembak Beach, Sanur, from August 13 to 17.
This year's theme, Nature Weave, explored the relationship between nature, craftsmanship, and contemporary design. More than 250 brands and practitioners took part, turning Bali's coastline into a space where design could be experienced within its natural landscape rather than staged against it.
Balagi International presented The Solid Ground, an installation built around the strength and versatility of rattan. Known for its long-standing craft in rattan furniture, Balagi brought that expertise to the coastal setting through an open structure of polished natural Manao rattan.
The setting created a quiet contrast. Sand shifted underfoot while the rattan structure held its ground. The open framework let sea breeze move through the installation freely, drawing furniture, air, and landscape into one continuous experience.
As part of the collaboration, we contributed Leder Haus synthetic leather upholstery to Balagi's handwoven rattan furniture.
Our materials appeared across seat cushions, backrests, and panel accents, adding color, comfort, and durability while staying true to rattan's natural warmth and texture.
For us, this collaboration was about bringing two distinct material qualities together with intention. Rattan carries Indonesia's rich handwoven craft tradition. Leder Haus upholstery adds a contemporary finish built for real commercial use.
That combination matters most in hospitality and commercial interiors, where furniture has to hold character, comfort, and durability all at once. Paired with Balagi's craftsmanship, Leder Haus materials helped shape rattan furniture into pieces ready for hotels, restaurants, and other modern spaces.
